- 1988 Undergraduate studies, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade
- 1994 Specialization in internal medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. Master’s thesis defended: Monitoring of changes in the endocrine functions of the pancreas in patients with chronic pancreatitis,
- 2006 Defended his doctoral dissertation: Analysis of the relationship between gastroesophageal reflux disease and eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection. Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade
Work experience:
- Since 1989 Trainee, then specialist in internal medicine-gastroenterologist, Clinic for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Clinical Center of Serbia, Belgrade
- 2001 – 2013 Head of the endoscopy unit. Clinic for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Clinical Center of Serbia, Belgrade
- 2013 – 2015 Deputy Director of the Clinic for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Clinical Center of Serbia, Belgrade
- Since 2013, Associate Professor, subject of internal medicine. Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade
- Since 2015, Director of the Clinic for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Clinical Center of Serbia, Belgrade
Publications and studies:
In the period so far, Dr. Dragan Popović has published over 200 scientific and professional papers. He is the author of textbooks and chapters in textbooks for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the Faculty of Medicine.
So far, he has been engaged in the realization of over 20 international clinical studies on the treatment of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease using immunomodulatory biological therapy, testing therapeutic modalities in pancreatic insufficiency as well as in gastro-oesophageal reflux disease.
